Welcome to your friendly neighbourhood Gemini season — is your eye twitching yet?
Good God(dess), life really picked up in pace these past few weeks, didn’t it?
I’m here to offer my bi-weekly lunar checkpoint to remind you of why you feel the way you feel.
The New Moon in Gemini on May 26, 2025, was a luminary event that put an exclamation mark on another momentous transit in the sky.
We had a major outer planet transit: Saturn moved out of Pisces (where it’s been since 2023) and into Aries (where it will remain until 2028).
And folks, that’s a huge deal — not only for the babies born in 1993–1996 (who are now relieved of their Saturn Return), but for those born between 1997–2000. The early entry hell gates to adulthood have officially opened for you all.
And for the rest of us? Saturn just brought a spicy new flavour to your life’s allotment of work, discipline, commitment, and leadership. And it’ll bring it to a particular area of your chart and life, according to your chart, and life.
Saturn moving into a new sign only happens every 2-3 years, and it can kind of feel like someone has placed a new rock inside your backpack when it does.
And that rock — we’re just going to have get strong enough to hike with it now.
You will come to know this rock very well.
You may even learn to love this rock.
This rock will teach you, train you, and school you.
And slowly — but not entirely in your conscious awareness — this rock will rebuild your entire being from the ground up, and you will be grateful that it did.
Saturn transits are like a home renovation. That thing we do to intentionally improve and upgrade our standards, that inevitably takes longer than we think, comes with unexpected delays and expenditures, and brings just the right amount of burden to grow our patience and capacity as we upgrade.
Saturn’s upgrades come with work, and maturation. But upgrades they are, nonetheless.
So yes, Saturn’s entrance is loud — possibly louder than the New Moon in Gemini. But it’s hard to separate them. It is the sky were talking about, after all.
SO WHAT DOES A NEW MOON MEAN?
A New Moon represents the beginning of a new lunar cycle, where the Sun aligns to the moon and casts a shadow to create 0% illumination.
Unlike the bright, and loud energy of a Full Moon, the New Moon is a moment of psychic quietude —a time that favours pause, and reflection, and intention for what’s to come.
This phase creates a fertile void, full of potential and possibilities. However, I must say that this New Moon may feel more like a Full Moon due to Saturn looming over with his Aries microphone for the first time to let us know he’s here.
WHAT DO I DO WITH IT?
Just pay attention. The energy of the New Moon tends to carry us forward in the direction we set, whether intentional or not.
So what’s happening right now on this New Moon is important to how the unfolding lunar cycle. And we will see how that unfolding went on our Full Moon in Gemini, six months from now. Don’t worry, I’ll remind you.
It’s also worthwhile taking note of how you feel as Saturn has entered Aries during this lunation. It may help you start to track some of the energetics you’ll be working with over the next 3 years.
As a general rule of thumb, it’s useful on a new moon to ask yourself:
What seeds am I planting right now—both consciously and unconsciously?
And better yet, What seeds do I want to plant?
But we can get more specific about the nature of those seeds as we figure out Gemini, and that Saturn transit coinciding with it.
THE GEMINI INFLUENCE
Gemini is our zodiacal bumble bee. There’s always a buzz around Gemini. It’s always doing something, and then off to the next thing.
A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Gemini is a sign that lives for spontaneity, mental stimulation, and having its hands in multiple projects, and various interests.
Part of the reason Gemini is represented by the twins is because of how distinctly it can handle multiplicity. You can often feel like you’re dealing with someone who has the capacity of two, when you’re dealing with a Gemini dominant person.
Gemini is also the most communicative and curious sign of the Zodiac – drawn to gather information and inspiration from various sources, and try many things on.
So naturally, Gemini lunations have a inherent focus on the mind, dialogue and talking it out, far more than other zodiacal signs.
I often picture Gemini as a revolving door: information comes in, information goes out — things are light enough to move around, and it likes it that way.
With 4 planets in Gemini during this New Moon, communication, movement of information, and internal dialogue are huge themes right now. And Saturn’s transit into Aries (a fire sign) just makes it all that much louder.
Fire and air combined grows the wildfire. So if you’re mental life feels a little out of control right now, I hope knowing why helps you feel a little less crazy.
This may be a time when you feel caught in your head or experience heightened restlessness or anxiety — there’s a lot of energy contained in the mind right now that wants expression.
You would do well to do a few brain dumps or cathartic conversations right about now. But try not to identify too much with any one thought, or double down on one idea just yet. It’s probably best the let the revolving door keep swinging.
Let it in, let it out. Try this, try that. Let it go.
Holding on during Gemini season is not a thing.
Find ways to move energy — especially through conversation with others. Aries without feedback can get insular and resistant to collaboration. Gemini without feedback can run all sorts of loops at 3x speed.
Without movement, or expression, this energy could feel divisive and imploding.
That’s because fire and air want energy to move. They want action. So give yourself the gift of movement — spontaneous, assertive, confident action to keep that revolving door swinging.
I promise you, if anything in the sky suggested to ground and stabilize, I would be recommending it. This elemental combo just need to keep it moving.
WHAT THE OTHER PLANETS HAVE TO SAY
🪐 Pluto wants the truth
Pluto is the planet that needs us to dig deep, find the truth and transform through that excavation process.
This New Moon in Gemini is trine Pluto. This means the truth excavator is on your side, as long as you are processing honestly with yourself, and others.
Don’t lie to yourself. Don’t lie to others. Don’t lie to Pluto.
Don’t hold it in. Don’t gaslight yourself.
It just won’t work.
And keep your eyes and ears open to what is being spoken to you and around you — you may catch even more truth than usual.
🪐 Saturn is just getting started
Saturn has recently begun his 2.5-year journey into Aries, May 24, 2025.
Saturn is a whole mystery school that I never feel satisfied speaking to succinctly. But I keep having to try to do so — so whatever, Emma.
He is a paternal, stern authority figure that teaches us important lessons and matures us significantly in the zodiac sign he is moving through. There can be a low-grade “ugh” where Saturn is that needs to be met with more patience, more work, and dedication than before Saturn entered the scene.
Many people love showing up for Saturnian work; others find it to be a burden. It really depends what your relationship to discipline and work is like, and how that evolves over time as you figure out your co-creation with his energy.
But like every planet, he is a neutral, and supportive part of the whole that brings serious eldership, wisdom, and foundational sturdiness to the area of life he works us in. And that’s both in our natal blueprint, as well as the zodiac he is slogging through at any given moment.
And as of May 24, 2025 he is slogging through Aries, teaching us some serious lessons around Aries topics now:
The work of stepping through your fears
The work of healthy confrontation with self and others
Mastering the art of starting before you’re “ready”
Mastering patience, and taming urgency while acting swiftly (woah)
The discipline of owning your reality
The uncompromising commitment to yourself and forging your own path
The work required to continuously protect yourself, your path, your sovereignty
The burden and discipline of leadership
The unique and complex maturation of one’s passions and fire
Saturn will also land somewhere unique in your chart, affecting an area of life for you and bringing another layer to the understated list of applicable expressions above.
All in all — if you’ve been feeling an uptick of confrontational energy, or frustration with circumstances or events in your life, it may be the start of you protecting what is sacred to you, in your Aries journey.
But don’t worry, you have 2–3 more years to Karate Kid that one with Mr. Miyagi.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
Because this New Moon is coinciding with Saturn’s transit into Aries, you may have noticed the following themes intensifying over the past two weeks leading up to May 26, 2025:
confrontational energy welling up in your head, and needing to be expressed
a very low tolerance for fluff
a quick influx of ideas
inspiring new directions
a desire for information and skills, new learning ventures
the ugly truth coming up
a desire to get to the heart of matters with others
dialogue intensifying, more people on the offence
asserting and speaking one’s mind
impatience, things needing to move quicker
a strange blend of scattered mental energy met with intense and clear “this is what I want” kind of knowing
This New Moon impacts you based on where Gemini is in your natal chart — especially if you have planets near 6° of the mutable signs.
If you’re unsure what that means, a reading can help you with that (among many other things).
